About Dr. Amin GhavamiNejad

Amin GhavamiNejad is a Research Assistant Professor in the Prof. Shana Kelley research group at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Northwestern University.

He was previously working as a postdoctoral research associate under the supervision of Professor Shirley Wu at Leslie L. Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto (UofT).  He was also the instructor of a course entitled “Polymeric materials in pharmaceutical applications” for undergraduate students and was coordinating seminar series for graduate students at Leslie L. Dan Faculty, UofT.

He has an extensive research experience in synthesizing polymers for various biomedical and pharmaceutical applications, which lead to currently more than 50 publications mostly in renowned journals. He has also obtained and supervised several projects funded by various federal and provincial funding agencies in Canada and USA. His research interests include developing smart wearable biomedical devices for therapeutics and diagnostics purposes and translating them to the clinic.
